Have you ever changed the temperature setting of your water heater? It is a fairly simple thing to do, and some homeowners have chosen to do so either because they feel that their water isn’t hot enough, or because it runs out too fast. While this might seem like the perfect fix for those problems, it actually isn’t the best solution. The prime reason why you don’t want to set your water heater for a temperature that is too high is the risk of scalding. Having your water heater set for 120 degrees is recommended since water that is much hotter than that could scald your skin in just a few seconds. If you feel like you absolutely have to make the adjustment, you should do so in small increments to prevent injury.

If you find that you constantly run out of hot water, the size of your tank is probably not large enough for your family. You should consider either upgrading to a larger water heater or getting a tankless water heater installed at the faucets in your home.
