Many people have hardwood floors in their homes, and as time goes on, scratches may seem to appear out of nowhere, and can be an eyesore, especially if guests come over for dinner and see them. How can you take care of these scratches? Well two ways that you can do so will be discussed today.

The first way that you can try is with a wood stain marker. First you need to find the matching color with the wood on the floor, and when you do, you need to first clean out the affected area with a damp cloth with water. Once cleansed of all dirt, apply the marker to an unaffected area of the floor to double check that the colors match. Once verified, apply the marker to the affected scratch, so that it blends in with the floor. The scratch is then not as quickly spotted, making the floor look quite nice.

The second way to go about making scratches go away is by first applying floor cleaner to the scratch to, once again, clean it of debris and dirt. After letting the cleaner dry, gently rub off what remains with a damp wash cloth, and then apply to the scratch a top coating of floor sealant. Once applied, let it dry, and then that sealant will protect the scratch from being torn open again in the wood.

Remembering these few ways will lead your wood floors to looking in better shape, and make those guests gaze over your house with envious eyes.
