Who takes care of your home? Many try to do most of their maintenance themselves, and this is very good, but for it to be most effective, you should have a schedule for it.
As with most things, it is easy to overlook or forget something important if you don’t have good structure. Writing up a maintenance schedule will ensure that things are cared for in a timely manner, and that you don’t miss something important.
You can find many sample maintenance schedules online, and usually it doesn’t take much tweaking to create a schedule that fits you and your home.
A large part of your schedule will probably be dedicated to replacing disposable parts of your various appliances, but you should also make sure to include general housekeeping items, such as clearing away debris and junk that might collect. Sticking to a schedule for all these things will also ensure that you won’t be stuck spending days doing everything at once, but instead, just spend a few hours every month on your maintenance.
